About
Annica Sandström is assistant professor of Political Science at Luleå University of Technology and postdoctoral researcher at Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stockholm University.
Annica is foremost working within the field of natural research management and she is specialized in policy network theory and social network analysis (SNA). The governance approach, and a great interest in exploring the relationship between network structure, organizing processes and policy outcome, is characteristics for her work. Previous research involves, for example, studies of local fishery management, searching for the defining network features of adaptive co-management systems.
Ongoing research deals with the challenges of adaptive management in biodiversity conservation; the role of beliefs in the formation of policy coalitions in carnivore management; public network management in large scale energy investments; and the determinants of successful, ecosystem based, co-management.
